Saving A Lost Generation

A film about reversing autism….

Happy Holidays! Update for the New Year

This is a repost of the email sent out to our mailing list in case your email address was removed in the spam purge (see below)

The year is almost over so we’d like to let you know where we are up to with the film series and in particular Saving a Lost Generation.  It’s been a hectic year!!!

MAILING LIST PROBLEM

Our mailing list has been spammed so that’s taken some sorting out - hopefully all the real people on our mailing list will safely receive this!  The fact that our list was spammed will not in any way affect you - it just meant that we had hundreds of bogus emails signed on to receive information, generating massive amounts of delivery failed messages and further spamming if we tried to send out updates.

PILOT STUDY
We have pressed on with finding a way to run the pilot study so that we can film the before and after sequences.  We have found an autism center interested in running the pilot study from their facility with the option to film the ongoing results.  The parents of the children attending the center are interested in alternative options of enabling their children to reach their fullest potential so it looks exciting.

Of course we have to raise the capital to set the pilot study in motion, but we have some people working on some major fund raising ideas for that.

FILM OPTIONS
Last month our proposal went to a major broadcaster in the UK who has professed an interest in controversial topics - we think this fits the bill and we’re waiting to hear.

NEW 6 MIN CLIP
We’ve posted a new version of the 6 min clip on the website - it contains some ‘before’ footage of the twins shot when they were having their educational assessment at the age of 5, and we reshot the homeopathic doctor with better sound.

NEW VIDEOS
We also filmed Julie Mann, Finance Officer for NASH and the NASH Foundation, our fiscal sponsor, and Miranda Castro FSHom at the National Center for Homeopathy conference in Seattle earlier in the year and have posted these clips on the website.

EMBEDDING CODE - PLEASE USE IT !
The code to embed a copy of the 6 min clip onto your own website is now available for use - it’s a nice way to show the potential of homeopathy and it couldn’t be easier to link to us - which in turn helps raise our profile. You can find the code on the SALG website and it will stream via youtube (seamless for you).

NEW PRODUCTS FOR SALE - 100% of the proceeds go to the films
Miranda Castro FSHom made a generous donation of her Healing Joint Cream to the project and it is now available for sale on the SALG website - see the link: Buy this and support us!

Author Mo Morrish and Mani Norland of the Alternative Training Programme generously donated a box of The Little Green Book - Homeopathy a Rational Choice in Medicine - a great little book for anyone who wants to better understand Homeopathy and its place in the scheme of things.  It’s a must for patients, would be patients, and for any clinic waiting room and is also available to buy on the SALG website under the same link.  !00% of the proceeds will go to help the project.

OUR NEXT FILM
While Laurie worked on the pilot study options for SALG, Carol and Luci started work on the next film in the series and have made major progress. We hope to be able to show you that progress early in 2010 and if you are interested in advancing homeopathy as a health-care choice, we’re sure you’ll be as excited about it as we are.

BLOG
Sadly in all the activity the blog got overlooked as a means of communication. I am posting this email on the website in case any of the email addresses were inadvertently deleted when we purged the spam, and will endeavour to post on the blog on a regular basis in the new year to keep you updated on our progress.

THANK YOU!
Thank you for your support and ongoing encouragement.  As those of you who have been involved in documentary making will know it can be a slow and laborious process, but we are definitely making good progress on all fronts.

Time is flying by…..

I can’t believe it’s already a month since I last wrote on this blog!
The conference in Seattle went well - our poster session letting the profession know about Saving a Lost Generation was a great success - two conference attendees made a donation to the film funding - thank you! I filmed two of the presentations and interviews with John Melnychuk and Amy Lansky. Would have interviewed Dr. Luc de Shepper too, but he was dashing for his plane the second he finished his presentation.
Am having to spend way too much time on fund raising to get this project done and out into the world - ANY FUNDRAISERS OUT THERE? We need you!
If you know any potential investors ask them to check out the crowd funded film at www.ageofstupid.net and then email us.
Something in the works with Miranda Castro but more about that as soon as I’ve finished building the relevant pages - watch this space!
I have applied for a 28 hour day but permission is still pending. Maybe that’s a good thing……

Back from Seattle….

Just in time for World Autism Awareness Day!

Have just got back after a full on weekend - lots of encouragement and input.  Am focused on the fundraising now - without it the film can’t be finished and put out into the world.  Have been brain storming about how to do it - lots of small donations make anything possible!  Was told by a webdesigner that I should put a Donate button right on the front page - so am doing that as soon as I’ve written this.  Entire NCH conference was about children and much of it about children with special needs, including ASD - a lot of homeopaths getting good results - will be making a list of practitioners who are working in this arena as soon as I can get the list together. So better get back to it - if you’ve read this far please spread the word - tomorrow April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day!

Lots happening……

A few notes about recent developments - had an offer to loan us the funds for the basic camera package which is fantastic - no more rentals and angsting about getting equipment at the last minute and then finding out it doesn’t work - reminders of a nightmare dash around London looking for a wireless mic transmitter on a Saturday morning when the rental companies were closed!  So huge relief and very, very excited about it.

Also received some funding to go to the US national homeopathy conference this coming weekend to get support behind the film, present a poster session and motivate!

Been inspired by Franny Armstrong’s crowd-funded film The Age of Stupid - premiered this last week in the UK.  I met with Franny and Lizzie in London two years ago to pick their brains - they were deep in production on the film, which was called Crude back then. It’s been a labour of love but here they are showing what’s possible when you stay on focus and catch the imagination of the public. If you haven’t seen it, go!  It’s coming to the US in May I think - been shown to the UK parlaiment, the EU parliament and many other decision making groups - and it’s already making a huge impact on audiences.  Kudos to Franny and Lizzie and all the people who saw the potential and got on board to help.  (www.ageofstupid.net)

If you are going to be at the NCH conference next weekend, come and say hello and see what we’re doing.

At last the blog!

Am back from London, the broken arm has healed, it’s time to start the blog!  I realize there’s never a good time to start a blog - every time I think I’ll just do this first, something else crops up - but you deserve to know there’s a real person at this end!

Latest news: Still working on the website - building the pages for resources including links for more information about homeopathy and homeopaths.  If you see I’m missing an important link please email and let me know.

Right now I’m working on getting a fundraising counter up so you can see our progress plus a page for credits for our supporters.

Getting ready for the main US homeopathic conference in Seattle at the end of March - will present a Poster session about the film series so busy making publicity material for that.

Was a flurry of activity on the Quackbuster forums and blogs a couple of months ago when they discovered this website, it’s died down for now but I’m sure they are keeping an eye on progress - Hi to any QBs out there!

Whole Health Now sent out an email letting their membership know about the film series - it created a buzz,  some emails of support and some very welcome donations - thank you to WHN and the donors.

Any website wizards out there who can help with my vertical learning curve please send me an email!
